Aurora Aksnes' first musical memory involves finding a small piano that was in her basement and becoming enthralled by the sounds it made. Jan Oystein Aksnes, her parents May Britt Aksnes, and Jan Oystein Aksnes, encouraged their daughter to pursue music as a passion rather than a profession. She started writing lyrics of her own. Bjork as well as Leonard Cohen are among her favourite songwriters. When her mother told her that the songs she wrote might not make her famous rather to help people to realize the importance of their work and influence to the world, she began singing them in public. She started playing piano at age six and writing music at age nine. The family did not have any idea until she was 14. Aurora has never imagined being a famous singer. She claims that she enjoys writing songs. To her music, it is the most effective way to express anything.
